Fear is tyranny

I recently wrote several articles (or posts, which ever description suits you better), more or less related to the social behaviour of large masses or on the policy of fear. Here are the links:

- Mentalitate de (ne)câștigător;

- Cum să pricepi că ești manipulat;

- Advocatus diaboli, ad nauseam, ad infinitum;

- Res divinae;

- Da, sunt bancher și mi-s mândru;

Due to an article I read, “Religious freedom: a confined policy” I chose to write an addendum to what I believe to be an important issue. I also read Al Gore’s book “The assault on reason”, and something just clicked into place.

Fear is tyranny, people.  Because of fear, displaces logic. Fear is a conditioned response that makes the body react as if it was in danger. It generates behaviour that is not logical, but is quick. Because of fear, there is no logic. Fear is the mind-killer, you know…

Now, what’s wrong with this picture? Why ?

The thing is, we need things to hang on to.. Just not the things we think we need. We need so little to survive.. Food, water, shelter, medicine. That’s it. We don’t need Coca Cola, or Apple, or Mercedes, or any other brand for that matter, in order to survive. We are like bacteria, constantly adapting to the environment, living but not really alive.

Belief is a positive concept. We should believe in ourselves. Faith is also a positive concept. Have faith in tomorrow. In kindness of others. In yourself. Because, you see, hear and feel through yourself. Your eyes make you see, your ears make you hear, and your skin makes you feel. Wrong! Your brain makes all that. There are ways to make people see without seeing, hear without hearing and feel without feeling. It’s called psychological manipulation. For instance, people were shown a brightly coloured car (usually red) standing by a Give way! sign and were asked:

- Did you notice that (red) car standing by the Stop! sign?

Amazingly, more than 90% of them acknowledged. The thing is, there was never a Stop! sign there. But, later, an even more amazing thing happened: most of them never remembered that Give way! sign, but remembered they saw a Stop! sign. That’s how you can see without seeing…

Now, you say, what’s that gotta do with fear?

Since fear is a conditionned response to danger, and disrupts logic, bypasses reason, keeping you in a constant state of fear reduces you to an ilogical moron. But this has some obvious advantages, that if you are provided with a method or a thing that stimulates a powerfull emotional response in you by claiming (falsely!) that it can make the danger go away, you tend to either use that method, or buy that thing, or adjust you behaviour in a way that can be accurately predicted. Sheep, we are. But you wonder who’s that border collie directing us where we should go… That’s the media, people.. The more pressing matter should be who’s the shepperd, and where are we lead? To the slaughterhouse, perhaps? See, there’s an interesting metaphor in all this. We, as sheep, can have our hair cut, our milk taken or be killed, all for the needs of some people… The puppet masters, our shepperds..

That’s what drives us. Fear. Fear that we are not good enough, fear that God will punish us, fear of terrorist attacks, fear of the future, fear of change, fear… Fear is a constant everywhere. Because through fear we stop thinking, and allow our mind and conciousness to be misled and misdirected, all in the name of consumerism, control of the individual and authoritarianism.

So, dear reader, step carefully, for you step on my dreams…
